| Series Overview of Showtimes The Outer Limits
| It was probably late 1997 when I discovered Showtime had resurrected the old science fiction series "The Outer Limits" as a cable show, complete with aliens, spaceships, a memorable instrumental theme, and sexy ladies. The show became one of the few things on television that I watched on a regular basis.
More than the original, the newer incarnation of "The Outer Limits" was ready to deal out an ending where the protagonist lost. One of my favorite episodes, "Tempests," has a totally unexpected and downer ending.
Showtime ceased making "The Outer Limits" in 2000, which was not entirely a bad thing. The show had lost a lot of its energy and many of the episodes were marginally entertaining. "Final Appeal" was the last episode produced for Showtime (SciFi Channel picked up the rights) and it was abysmal. Not only was it made from bits and pieces of other episodes, it was exceptionally talky and, to make matters worse, boring.
